As the days get colder, darker, and (for Britons at least) damper, finding the inspiration to leave the warmth and comfort of the sofa to hit the weights can be difficult.
Unless you’re on Instagram (like we are: @swpsapparel), where professional and amateur bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts give you a reason to keep going. We’ve listed five of our favourite UK bodybuilding accounts so far…
#5 Samantha Egan (@samgolift)
Relatively new to the circuit, Samantha caused waves after winning her first ever competition following just six months training.
A CNP Professional, Samantha’s lightning-fast journey to bodybuilding fame offers some great inspiration for beginners.
#4 Mike Thurston (@mikethurston)
The first (but certainly not the last) personal trainer on our list, Mike’s Instagram is chock-a-block with training videos and pictures.
And if you’re so impressed you want the real thing, Mike can provide training and advice both on and offline for all experience levels.
#3 Kate Austin (@k.austin26)
Kate Austin is a veteran of the UK and Welsh bodybuilding circuit. While her Instagram doesn’t provide the technical advice of others on this list, Kate’s great sense of humour means you will never be bored.
But don’t be fooled by the laughs – Kate is serious when it comes to training, owning the “biggest and best equipped” gym in Bridgend.
#2 Ricardo ‘Rudeboy’ Correia (@ifbbpro_rudeboy)
The double British champ and the 2013 overall British champ, Ricardo’s lively feed provides as much entertainment as it does insight into the top tiers of professional bodybuilding.
With frequent progress updates, the ‘Rudeboys’ Instagram is your chance to keep up with the pros.
#1 Myles Leask (@mylesleask)
This personal trainer-cum-model-cum-actor mixes great shots with eight years gym based training experience to create one great Instagram feed.
